The weather was the big topic of conversation at the Blackberry Festival. What happened to summer? It was a little cool but the food, crafts and entertainment were all superb. Thanks to all of you that stopped by to say hello.
The other big topic of conversation was about the McCain pick for VP. A lot of women seemed very excited. The most common comment from men was something about any woman that carries an M-16 and knows how to use it gets my respect. Another male comment was related to her getting up at three in the morning to hunt Moose. The bottom line I seemed to get was that both men and women find her to be a strong person determined to make a difference.
One of the things I like about local politics is the ability to differ on issues and still demonstrate civility. My opponent Walt Washington's wife Mayre walked pass the booth to visit some of the crafts and food booths in our area. I recommended the Granny Smith's with the sweet coating in the booth next to ours. They were DELICIOUS. I should have laid off a couple hot dogs over the weekend and gone for more of the healthy stuff. Walt and Mayre came by our Republican booth to say hello this weekend and I did the same at their booth. We may differ on issues but we both want a good community to live in. Our differences are over how to get there.
Fun from the campaign trail.

BLOG
The Blog is up and running. I will be posting events here from time to time on issues that are important to the campaign. It may be issues, it may be events or it may just be for fun.
